Shannon Ruth says the men’s under-21s are looking forward to challenging on four fronts in the second half of the season.
Albion are third in Premier League 2, have qualified for the next round of the International Cup and could still reach the knockout stages of the Premier League Cup, but their focus on Tuesday is the Sussex Transport Senior Cup.
They go up against Burgess Hill with a home tie against Whitehawk in the quarter-finals at stake. The game has been switched to the 3G pitch at Culver Road, Lancing, kick off 7.30pm.
Ruth said, “It’s going to be a very exciting second half of the season with lots to play for in the different competitions. The squad needed the time off they had over Christmas. We have already played 26 games against a variety of opponents who have presented different challenges, so it was good to rest and re-set because the next few months could be just as busy.
“We’re in the transfer window now so the squad could evolve if some of the players get loan moves and others move into the group to take their place. There’s a lot to look forward to but the focus is on tonight,”
Burgess Hill are currently fourth in Isthmian League South East and have won eight of their last 11 matches in all competitions.
“Burgess Hill are having a good season and then there’s the challenge of playing on 3G. We’re expecting a very competitive game,” added Ruth.
