Putting Ellie's work in the spotlight
Meet the latest winner of our MBP competition which promotes young photographers.
Ellie Schuetze
Brighton & Hove Albion and MPB are proud to spotlight the latest winner of our Focus on Her campaign, Ellie Schuetze.
The initiative started in November and spotlights female photographers and their work.
Ellie attended last Saturday’s WSL fixture against Tottenham Hotspur and photographed the game from the Amex touchline.
She said, “I have worked across a variety of sports, but football has always been central to my work. It played a key role in my life growing up, so naturally I feel more connected to it and especially to women’s football.
“Photography throughout school was a strong interest of mine and, since I enjoyed it and had the eye for it, I continued to pursue it up to degree level. Alongside my university studies, I made the most of various freelance programmes which supported me in growing a business mindset and encouraged me on where I wanted to take my photography.
“That was when I decided to combine my passions and focus on advocating for women in sport.
"During my final year of university, I landed a work experience role with a National League women’s team, photographing their games all season. From there I continued to reach out, gather experience, grow my portfolio and build my network – all very important to establishing a freelance career.
"I now have experience of photographing in the EFL Championship, FA Women’s National League, BUCS (British University & College Sport) and working for Sussex County FA."
