Eight of our players out on loan were in action over the weekend, with League Two a particular source of good news.
Tom McGill’s MK Dons beat Cheltenham Town 3-2 to make it five consecutive wins in the fourth tier to lift Scott Lindsey’s team up to fifth.
Grimsby Town maintained their spot in the last play-off place thanks to a 0-0 draw with Newport County – Luca Barrington played the full game – while Benicio Baker-Boaitey came on for the final 20 minutes of leaders Port Vale’s 1-0 win over Morecambe.
The victory moved the Valiants three points clear at the top.
In the Women’s National League, Comfort Erhabor was an unused substitute in Plymouth’s 2-0 defeat to Cheltenham in the Women’s National League, while Grace McEwen and Lily Dent both played the full 90 minutes for Portsmouth women as they were beaten 2-0 by Blackburn Rovers in the Women’s Championship.
Libby Bance was on target for Bristol City in their 2-1 win over Charlton Athletic.
Finally, Odel Offiah kept a cleansheet with Blackpool in a goalless draw against Northampton Town in League One with Samy Chouchane completing the 90 minutes for the Cobblers.
