Albion fell to only their second Premier League 2 defeat of the season at table-topping Ipswich Town.
The Seagulls, missing the likes of Harry Howell, Nehemiah Oriola, Josh Robertson, Charlie Tasker and goalkeeper Nils Ramming, found themselves 3-0 down by half-time against an impressive Town side that has now won six of their last seven matches.
Unsurprisingly the hosts started with their tails up and opened their account on 11 minutes when Finley Barbrook drove home from the edge of the box.

The lead was doubled ten minutes later when Tudor Mendel cut inside from the right and fired a shot past keeper Steven Hall that went in off a post.
Albion's attacking forays were limited, with their first effort on goal coming on the half-hour mark via a Tyler Silsby free-kick that sailed over the bar.
Ipswich then grabbed their third eight minutes before half-time when a corner dropped at the feet of Joshua Pitts who made no mistake from inside the six-yard box.

Hall did well to save a 63rd-minute penalty from Mendel, pushing the effort over the bar, and it in turn led to a spell of Albion pressure.
Albion were rewarded for their efforts 11 minutes from time when Jesse Middleton hit the post from the edge of the box following good wing play from Shane Nti. The ball was eventually cleared and from the resulting corner, Ben Barclay rifled home from close range.
Attentions now turn to the Vertu Trophy and a trip to Luton Town on Tuesday night.
