Our menâs under-21s wrapped up their regular Premier League 2 away campaign with a well-deserved victory at Burnley on Monday night.
Second-half goals from Shane Nti and the impressive Miah Oriola put the gloss on what was a dominant and impressive display from Shannon Ruthâs side.
Albion showed their intentions as early as the first minute when the lively Oriola broke free down the left before firing at goalkeeper Oisin Cooney.
Charlie Tasker also tested Cooney with a low drive in the opening stages as the Seagulls â looking to bounce back from a 4-3 home defeat against Fulham last week â dominated possession.
Burnley, despite their lowly league position, came into the game on the back of two successive victories, but it was the visitors who continued on the front foot with Adam Brett flashing a brace of headers wide of the target.

As the pressure continued, Tyler Silsby tested the busy Cooney with a 20-yard free-kick and from the resulting corner, Noel Atom headed wide.
Brett also had a penalty appeal waved away while at the other end, Sebastian Jensen â son of former Burnley keeper Brian â had just one save to make for the Seagulls all half when he kept out a low effort from forward Ellis Clark.
The half-time whistle did nothing to halt Albionâs momentum and just four minutes after the restart the deadlock was broken when Oriola, having switched to the right flank, sent in a dangerous in-swinging cross which was met at the far post by the head of Nti.
Silsby, now operating on the left wing, fired over soon after as the pattern of Albion dominance continued.

It was a matter of when, not if, the visitors would double their account and it duly arrived on the hour mark when a deep cross from left-back Sean Keogh fell to Oriola, who took a touch before delightfully curling the ball beyond Cooney.
Burnley, having made a flurry of substitutes, then came into the game more, with Enock Agyei testing Jensen low to his left. However, Albion soon regained control of the game in terms of possession and chances created, with Nti and Silsby having further efforts at goal.
Albion now conclude their regular league campaign with home games against Everton and Aston Villa, and will certainly be confident of ending with a flourish on the evidence of this performance, before the elimination playoffs takes place*.

*After the regular season of 20 Matchweeks is completed, the top 16 teams qualify for the elimination playoffs.
For the elimination playoffs, teams are drawn against each other based on their league positions. For example, the team finishing first will face the team that finished 16th. The playoffs consist of a round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final, all of which will be standalone fixtures.
