Matchwinner Sean Keogh felt his goal to in the 2-1 win over Ipswich Town in the last 16 of the Premier League 2 play-offs was the cherry on top of his finest performance in a Brighton shirt.
The Irishman netted his first goal for the club when he cut inside into the box before leathering the ball into the top right corner to put Brighton in front.
âIt was amazing, it was probably my best game in a Brighton shirt so I am over the moon, especially to get my first goal for the club too," Sean said.
Despite Sean being predominantly left-footed, the Irishman scored his first Albion goal with his right foot. đ¸ by James Boardman.
âBefore the game I definitely thought I was more comfortable on my left foot, but after scoring with my right I will have to rethink that now!
âGoals donât come around too often for me so I will cherish that one. I didnât know what to do for the celebration, I canât even remember what I did.â
The 20-year-old joined us from Dundalk last summer and has enjoyed finding form in the second part of the campaign.
The defender helped Albion reach the last eight of the competition, where they will face West Ham. đ¸ by James Boardman.
âI was a bit slow starting off the season after first moving over, but I got more comfortable towards the end of the season.
âItâs a big difference coming over from Ireland. It was my first time away from home but I think I have settled in now and I am enjoying my football. When I first came over it felt like there was a big difference between the style of play but I am getting my grasp on it now.
âShannon [Ruth] has been brilliant with me. I love a coach who pushes to get the maximum out of me and to be the best version of myself. I couldnât ask for anymore from him, heâs been unbelievable.â
