Albion progressed to the fifth round of the FA Youth Cup following a 2-0 win at QPR on Tuesday night.
The game, hosted at the Rangers training ground following two previous postponements at Loftus Road and Hanwell Town, was played in testing conditions, with the Seagulls making progress thanks largely to a dominant first-half display in which Henry Kasvosve and Tyler Silsby found the target.
Bjorn Hamberg's side had come into the game on the back of a comprehensive 5-2 victory at Tottenham Hotspur in round three – part of a run that has yielded five wins from six games.
That confidence showed from the start with the deadlock broken inside two minutes when Harry Howell played in Kasvosve, who jinxed past two defenders inside the box before firing beyond QPR keeper Kasey Taylor.

Albion had a chance to double their lead ten minutes later when Adam Brett broke clear of a Rangers high line, only to see his shot saved by the feet of Taylor.
The keeper's net was, however, breached again on 19 minutes when a long diagonal pass from Seb Ademola was met on the left flank by Silsby. He then cut inside his hesitant marker Jerrell Tang before curling a delightful effort into the corner of the net.
Silsby also showed great feet and a dummy to beat Tang shortly before the break but having honed in on goal, his shot was blocked.
The hosts' best efforts of the half came from Teddy Tarbotton, who fired over early on and later tried his luck with a 20-yard free-kick, but neither effort troubled Albion keeper William Rutter.

Rangers certainly made a more competitive start to the second half than they did the first, with Ridwanullahi Hassan blazing an effort over Rutter's goal. Cory Adjetey-Brew then saw a 25-yard free-kick superbly tipped onto the bar by the Seagulls keeper while Leon Scarlett's follow-up hit the woodwork.
Playing into torrential rain and driving wind, Albion struggled to create much in the second 45, instead showing a steely determination for the remainder of the half. The impressive Rutter again did superbly well to palm away a Fraser Neill header, following an inswinging free-kick in the closing stages, and while Rangers continued to press for an opening, it is the Albion who can now look forward to a trip to either Sunderland or West Bromwich in the next round.
