Our menâs under-18s drew 0-0 at Crystal Palace in Premier League South on Saturday.
The point moved Albion up into fourth place, with Saturdayâs hosts sitting three points ahead in third spot.
âIt was a really good game of football and I am pleased with the performance, I thought that we looked how we would want a Brighton team to look,â interim under-18s head coach Steven Menzies said.
âIn the first half we were better for the first 25-30 minutes in general â a lot of football was played in their half.
âMy only criticism is that we didnât take chances â we had some big moments that we should do better with. Palace improved as the half went on, but we stuck together and limited them to half chances.
âThe second half was similar in terms of playing in their half and we also looked a threat when breaking out from defence. We pushed for a winner, but then Palace might feel they should have won it after they hit the bar and had a couple of corners right at the end.
âBut I am pleased with how we pressed and defended long balls. There were a lot of strong individual performances which was pleasing to see.â
The under-18s have a quick turnaround as they travel to Birmingham City on Tuesday, kick-off 11am.
