Jacob Parsons scored twice on his Under-18s league debut on Saturday but it wasn't enough to stop Albion losing 5-3 at home to Tottenham.
Arthur Brammer named a young side with under-18 regulars Shane Nti, Darius Lane, Tyler Silsby and Nehemiah Oriola playing for the under-21s on Friday against Everton.
A chaotic opening 30 minutes in Lancing saw Spurs lead 3-2, with Zebedee Lawson and Parsons scoring for Albion.
Spurs extended their lead six minutes after the restart when Luca Jamie Williams-Barnett completed his hat-trick, but Parsons managed to squeeze the ball over the line from close range to make it 4-3.
The visitors put daylight between themselves and Albion in the 65th minute, though, when Reiss Elliott-Parris scored a tremendous goal from the halfway line.

The result leaves Albion seventh in the table after 14 games.
Brammer said, “I am proud of the boys, it was a good effort against a strong Spurs team. But we need to be more clinical in the opponent's box and cut out individual errors in our own half.
“It’s definitely a performance to build on and I expect the boys to bounce back in a strong way in training on Monday, leading into the away trip to West Brom next Saturday.
“I am really happy with the four debutants. This was Henry Kasvosve's first start, while Zac Brennan, Jacob Parsons and Zebedee Lawson made their full under-18 debuts. It’s another positive example of the strong pathway at the club.”
