Our men’s under-18s came from behind to beat Ipswich Town 3-2 in Premier League South on Saturday.
The visitors to Lancing took the lead after 16 minutes thanks to Will Unadike, before Younes Ibrahim scored directly from a corner just before half-time to equalise.
Anton Palmer gave Albion the lead in the 72nd minute with a finish from outside the box after we won the ball deep in the Tractor Boys’ half, and Jacob Parsons added a third with a tap in after Bailey Palmer’s strike was saved.
Ipswich pulled one back from the penalty spot late on, but weren’t able to put on any late pressure following Charlie Wood’s red card for serious foul play.

Under-18s interim head coach Steven Menzies said, “We didn’t start the game well – in possession we lacked quality and turned the ball over. This made the game messier than we would have liked and that gave the opposition chances, and eventually the lead.
“The rest of the half was slightly better, but way off the levels we should be at.
“We were much better at the start of the second half. We adjusted the midfield to play with another player higher up the pitch and our wide players showed more quality, which allowed us to play right across the pitch at the right time to hurt Ipswich.
“Our second and third goals came during our best spell by far and I would have liked to have seen us add a couple more.
“It’s an important win and the boys deserved it, but I would have liked to have seen more periods of good quality in possession throughout the game.”
