Our men's under-18s returned to winning ways in the Premier League South with a 4-2 victory at Aston Villa.

Albion led at the break through Finn Dzekawong’s goal and after Vincely Mudame levelled for Villa on 61 minutes, the visitors took a 3-1 lead thanks to Chetam Ezanwata and substitute Jacob Parsons.

Daniel Adediran made it 2-3 but Ezenwata got his second with three minutes to go to seal Albion’s victory.

Head coach Carl Martin said, “Overall it was a really positive performance, particularly in the way the players adapted tactically and responded to the different challenges the game presented.

“For the majority of the first half we controlled the game. We had more of the ball, created better opportunities and had some really good pressing moments.

“We went 1–0 ahead following a quick free-kick and a good delivery into the box, with Finn Dzekawong scoring.

“They equalised from an inswinging delivery into the box where our marking needed to be better. Our response was good. Chetam scored an excellent header from a corner which shifted the momentum in our favour.

"Jacob made an immediate impact to make it 3–1. It came from a well-worked attacking move and his willingness to continue his run put him in the position to finish.

“Our fourth goal was an excellent example of personality and recognising an opportunity. Chetam made a deep forward run from behind the ball, recognised the space, committed to the run and produced an excellent finish.”

“The biggest positive was the adaptability of the group. We went through a difficult spell, stayed in the game and found a way to regain control and win it.”
