Our men's under-18s cruised to a 3-0 win at Arsenal in Premier League South on Saturday.
Brilliant high pressure from Jacob Parsons saw Albion win the ball in the Arsenal half and set Darius Lane on his way. The midfielder cut across the edge of the box before curling in past Remi Lupinski after just eight minutes.
The visitors to London Colney had their second in first-half stoppage. time. Bailey Palmer received the ball inside the box, took a touch out of his feet and curled the ball into the top right corner with his left boot.
The pick of the bunch though will have to go to Bode Newnham-Reeve. Having burst down the right, the 16-year-old chopped past a defender and then bent in a strike from 15 yards to make it 3-0 three minutes after the restart.
The result bumps Albion up to fourth spot with 31 points from 18 games - six points off leaders Tottenham.
Men's under-18s interim head coach Steven Menzies said, "It was a great result for the boys and it's always positive to get a clean sheet, especially away from home.
"The game started fairly evenly but we then took the lead. We worked hard out of possession and defended our box well. We doubled our lead through Bailey, which was his first goal for the club, against the run of play.
"But we started the second half better and quickly had our third. Again the boys worked hard without the ball and limited Arsenal's chances, while maintaining a threat when we had the ball. Liam Doyle made an important save right at the end to keep a clean sheet, which capped off a great day."
