Men's under-18s coach Inigo Calderon is leaving Brighton & Hove Albion to become the new head coach of Bristol Rovers, in League One.
Inigo returned to the Albion in the summer on 2023, having enjoyed a successful six-year spell as a player with the club between 2010 and 2016.
Technical director David Weir said, "This is an excellent opportunity for Inigo, and while we are extremely disappointed to see him leave the club, we fully understand his decision.
"Calde has done some excellent work with the under-18s, but he now has the chance to take what is an important step in his coaching career with Bristol Rovers, and on behalf of everyone at the club we wish him well."
Inigo played the majority his career with Albion, playing 232 games for the club and scoring 19 goals - and helping the team win promotion as champions in 2010/11.
He returned to take on the job of under-18s coach at the start of last season. Inigo had previously held a similar role with another of his former clubs Alaves, where he had also been an assistant coach for their B-team.
Inigo has already undertaken his UEFA Pro Licence and has a degree in Sports Science and a Masters in Sports Psychology, which he completed while he was playing for Albion.
Born in Vitoria, and a proud Basque, he began his career with Alaves, and also played for Alicante in Spain; after his first spell here, he played for Anorthosis Famagusta and Chennaiyin in Cyprus and India respectively.
