Jack Hinshelwood has signed a new contract until June 2029.
The versatile midfielder, who joined us as an eight-year-old, progressed through our academy before making his first-team debut in 2023.
He has gone on to make 70 appearances, scoring nine goals and assisting six.
Menâs first-team head coach Fabian Hurzeler said, âI am delighted we have secured Jackâs future here. He has a very bright future ahead of him, and continues to grow and develop all the time.
âJack is the ideal role model for our academy players and is a fantastic reflection of the hard work the academy staff have put in with him over his time here.
âAfter making his breakthrough at such a young age, he was already fully integrated into the first team when I arrived and he is growing into a leader in the dressing room.
âWe are delighted he has signed this new longer contract with the club.â
The 20-year-oldâs versatility has seen him play across in both attacking and defensive roles in midfield, as well as having a run at full-back when he first broke into the team.
He comes from a footballing dynasty, including his dad Adam, who made 100 league appearances for the club during the Withdean era, before turning to coaching and management.
Jack is the fourth generation of the family to play professional football. His great-grandfather Wally played for Fulham, Chelsea, Reading and Bristol City.
Wallyâs sons Paul and Martin both played for Crystal Palace, with Martin going on to coach and manage the Albion.
Martinâs son Danny, who is Jackâs uncle, also played for Albion and Portsmouth. In addition to that, he has now played in the first team alongside his cousin Harry Howell.
