Fabian Hurzeler praised his side’s 'unbelievable belief' after Albion scored in stoppage time at the end of each half to draw 2-2 at Tottenham.
Kaoru Mitoma’s sensational volley made it 1-1 at the break and after Xavi Simon had restored Spurs’ lead Georginio Rutter got Albion’s second equaliser in the fifth minute of injury time.
“We showed unbelievable belief throughout the whole game,” said Hurzeler who watched from the directors’ box as he completed his two-match touchline ban.
“We didn’t create so many big chances, but in the second half we controlled the game but then they had one special moment. But we had the belief to make it 2-2.
“We’re disappointed that it is only a point because we came here to win but overall it’s a good 2-2. We performed not at our highest level but we showed character and resilience.”
Both Albion goals were scored by substitutes, and Hurzeler was pleased with the contribution from the bench.
“Huge credit to Mitoma, Georginio, Babis and De Cuyper. They came into the game and had a huge impact.”
Albion are ninth going into Tuesday's home game against Chelseam, but only two points off the European places, although that is not on the head coach's agenda.
“We’re sticking together as a group and when our habits and standards are right we can compete with every team in the league," he added. "We are still in a good run and now the challenge is the next game. There are five games to go and now we get ready for Chelsea.”
