Men’s first-team assistant head coach Jonas Scheuermann is the latest guest on the Official Brighton & Hove Albion Podcast.

Jonas joined us in the summer as a part of Fabian Hurzeler’s backroom staff, having previously been with Augsburg since 2017.

Talking about their relationship Jonas said, "We spoke a lot about football. We share the same style of play and we love the same things on the pitch – we like to control the game. But also to have good game management and to have a winner’s mentality and to bring the winner's mentality to the team. We have a very similar style of this.

“On the other side, we can discuss things because often in football everybody has their own opinion – every fan has another opinion and it's very important to discuss these things.

“But after you discuss you have to have one meaning and then bring this meaning to the players to agree.

“Fabian’s 31-years-old. He’s young, but he's been a coach for a long time coach and I think that's the most important thing.

“He's very good and he knows what he wants – that's the important thing, that you know what you want to bring to these players. He's like a 50-year-old coach.”
