Danny Welbeck’s brilliant goalscoring form continued as Albion eased to their best win of the season against Leeds United at the Amex.
Welbeck’s 12th-minute goal was his sixth in his last five Premier League games and set up his side for a comfortable win embellished by Diego Gomez’s second-half double.
The Paraguayan now has six goals in two games against Yorkshire opposition this season.
It was an impressive performance by Fabian Hurzeler’s side. A first clean sheet since May was another positive and Albion could – or rather should - have had five or six.

Albion have gone behind in six Premier League games this season and Fabian Hurzeler’s pre-match message about making a fast start was heeded.
Lucas Perri had already saved Yasin Ayari’s shot after Ethan Ampadu was dispossessed when the Seagulls took the lead with a well worked goal.
Yankuba Minteh won the ball on the right and played a lovely dink into the path of Mats Wieffer on the overlap. He looked up and spotted Welbeck unmarked six yards out who was never going to miss.
Albion’s press meant the ball spent much of the first half-hour in Leeds’s territory and they should have added to their advantage before the break. Jan Paul van Hecke won the ball back and found Welbeck, who had time and space but dragged his right-foot effort wide.

Minteh then set off from the centre circle, held off two defenders and left another on his backside with a lovely feint to open up space. The angled shot was struck well, but a yard wide of the right-hand post.
Just before the break Sean Longstaff fired over from a good position but it was a rare moment of concern in the first 45 for Albion.
Van Hecke tested Perri early in the second period after more good work by Minteh, then Georginio Rutter beat the Leeds’ keeper but his powerful strike from the edge of the box hit the side netting.

Albion finally made their superiority count on 64 minutes and Minteh was again heavily involved. He scorched down the right and when he crossed Rutter’s near post run took a defender with him and opened up space for Gomez to beat Perri.
It was 3-0 six minutes later and Gomez’s second owed everything to the brilliant Rutter. He won the ball back off Jayden Bogle, held off another defender as he made to the line before pulling the ball back to the edge of the six-yard box where Gomez was there to apply another easy finish. It was also Albion's 400th Premier League goal.

Perri flung himself to his left to push away Ayari’s blast from 12 yards to prevent his team’s afternoon getting even worse.
In added time academy graduate Joe Knight and Nehemiah Oriola came on for their Premier League debuts – a nice way to round off a positive afternoon for Albion.
