Rangers Women thrashed St Johnstone Women 12-0 in the SWPL Cup on Sunday.
Defender Jess Pegram started for the Gers, but didn’t get her name on the score sheet before she was replaced with 15 minutes to go.
Maybe not quite as emphatic but still impressive, Matt O’Riley scored and assisted for the first time in a Marseille shirt as Les Olympiens beat Metz 3-0 in Ligue 1 win. O'Riley is enjoying life in the South of France and also played an hour in their midweek Champions League 4-0 win over Ajax.
It was also a first for James Beadle, who made his league debut for Birmingham City as they drew 1-1 with Wrexham, while Eiran Cashin was an unused substitute for the Blues.
Four games without conceding a goal makes for pretty good reading for Carl Rushworth, as does the 5-0 scoreline Coventry enjoyed as they thumped Sheffield Wednesday. And sticking with goalkeeping success, Melina Loeck made it back-to-back clean sheets as Hammarby beat AIK 1-0 in Allsvenskan Women.
It was a disappointing weekend for Malick Yalcouye though as he came on for the last 15 minutes of Swansea City’s 3-1 loss to Leicester City.
Taking the third tier by storm, Amario Cozier-Duberry added another goal contribution to his tally – two goals, four assists – as he teed up what proved to be the winner in Bolton Wanderers’ 2-1 win over Peterborough.
Mark O’Mahony was brought on as a late substitute for Reading in their 1-1 draw with Mansfield Town, after scoring and assisting in their EFL Trophy win over West Ham Under-21s in midweek. Kamari Doyle wasn’t involved in the 3-1 win against the Irons, but played the full 90 minutes against the Stags.
Also in League One, Caylan Vickers played 75 minutes of Barnsley’s 2-2 draw with Wycombe Wanderers.
Charlie Penman started in Aldershot Town’s 3-0 defeat to Southend United, while over in the MLS, Andrew Moran played the final 25 minutes of LAFC’s 1-0 win against Atlanta United.
Unfortunately, Matthew Hayden was an enforced first half change for Havant & Waterlooville, although they did beat Tiverton Town 4-2 in the FA Trophy.
Finally, Ibrahim Osman came on for the final half an hour of Auxerre’s 2-1 defeat to Lens.
