Loan report: Yalcouye makes Swans debut in win over Blades

Just two days after signing for Swansea City on a season-long loan, Malick Yalcouye started in the Swans’ 1-0 home win over Sheffield United.

The midfielder played for an hour as Alan Sheehan’s team claimed their first win of the Championship season.

Coventry City and Carl Rushworth might have been disappointed to have conceded three goals against Derby County, but the Sky Blues were probably happier overall as they beat the Rams 5-3 at Pride Park.

Eiran Cashin made his debut for Birmingham City as a late substitute in their 2-1 win at Blackburn, while James Beadle was an unused substitute for the Blues.

In League One, Amario Cozier Duberry’s Bolton drew 1-1 at Barnsley – he played the full 90 minutes – while Caylan Vickers started for Barnsley as they made it three unbeaten.

It hasn’t been such a great start for Reading, though, as Mark O’Mahony and Kamari Doyle came off the bench for the Royals in their 2-1 home defeat to Wimbledon.

Heading overseas, Ibrahim Osman setup Auxerre’s winner in their 1-0 victory over Lorient, while Yoon Doyoung came on for the final 25 minutes of Excelsior’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Feyenoord in the Eredivisie.

In their final friendly of pre-season, Roma drew 2-2 with Nyom. Evan Ferguson was brought on for the second half for Roma. They begin their league campaign on Saturday at home to Bologna.

Finally, Matthew Hayden made his full debut for Havant & Waterlooville in their 1-0 win over Evesham United – their first victory of the Southern League Premier South division season.

The winner was to be a thing of beauty as captain Ryan Seager found the back of the net from the halfway line.
