Albion continued their winning start to pre-season as they beat Stoke City 3-1 in Spain on Wednesday evening.
Goals from Kaoru Mitoma, Diego Coppola and Georginio Rutter ensured victory, having beaten Wycombe Wanderers 6-1 at the weekend.
Brighton started brightly, with Yasin Ayari’s curling effort from 20 yards tipped away by Viktor Johansson – although it was at a good height for the keeper – before Million Manhoef got to the by-line and tried to sneak the ball past Jason Steele at his near-post, but he palmed it behind for a corner.

Albion took the lead after 35 minutes though when Danny Welbeck picked out Kaoru Mitoma, with the Japan international’s shot from inside the box taking a big deflection off Bosun Lawal and wrong footing Johansson, who could do nothing but watch the ball roll into the bottom corner.
Stoke responded just before the break when Manhoef’s shot hit the bar, the ball came back to him and his follow up struck the arm of Carlos Baleba. The referee pointed for a penalty, which Lewis Baker dispatched into the bottom left corner.
Fabian Hurzeler changed the entirety of his team at half-time and his new side immediately restored the lead. Having played a short corner, James Milner and Caylan Vickers combined on the left, with the latter crossing in for Coppola to head in.

Georginio Rutter had an excellent opportunity to put the game to bed with 15 minutes to go after terrific work on the right from Facundo Buonanotte to win the ball back and play in the Frenchman, but under pressure he smashed his strike over.
The Argentinian went close to bending in a stunner from 20-yards, his shot sailing narrowly over the top left corner, before Georginio’s cross took a deflection and beat Stoke substitute keeper Jack Bonham.
Albion return to action on Monday, as they take on Las Palmas.
