Hinshelwood: We'll need to give even more if we want to beat Arsenal

Jack Hinshelwood believes that Albion’s recent upturn in form has given them a boost as they prepare to take on Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Successive victories over Brentford and Nottingham Forest mean that Fabian Hurzeler’s men are looking up the table again instead of keeping an eye on the bottom six.
“I think we go into the game with massive confidence with our last two performances,” Jack said. “We know they possess good quality, but if we can do what we've done in the last two games and add a bit more on top, then I think we can more than compete with them and show what we're about.
“You know when you play Arsenal that they possess set-piece strength, but they also possess great quality out wide, down the middle, all over the pitch. They're top of the league for a reason, so we know we're going to have to be on top of our game, and I'm sure we will be.

Goals from Diego Gomez and Danny Welbeck ensured consecutive victories for the Albion in an enthralling contest at the Amex on Sunday afternoon.
“We don't go into any game of the season thinking that we can't win. We know on our day we can beat any team. I think from the last two games, even performances at Liverpool and Villa, since then our performances have turned a corner. We're playing with a lot more confidence and belief that we can win games.”
In the past two matches, Jack has played an attacking role that has required lung-bursting amounts of running and closing-down of opposing defenders. But he also created goals for forward partner Danny Welbeck in each of them.
“I try to fill the role with energy,” he said. “The gaffer asked us to press a lot and to make the game intense and me and Danny definitely did that first half. We had a few turnovers and a few chances. One thing I can guarantee every time I step on the pitch is I'm going to leave everything out there.
“I've really enjoyed it. The last two games, obviously playing in that more forward role, I've been a bit more free to move and try and get on the ball – just kind of creating some chaos, running around a lot and trying to pick the ball up in spaces and making things happen.

“I think I've shown that I can play in these positions and hopefully I can be reliable wherever I'm put on the pitch. I think the gaffer has put a lot of trust in me, especially over the last few games. I think he probably knows that every time I step out on the pitch, I'm going to give 110%.”
Jack has also had James Milner urging him on over those past two games, the Yorkshireman’s 654th and 655th of a distinguished and record-breaking Premier League career.
“I think he's probably the best example a young player could wish to have at the club,” Jack said. “I just watch his habits day-to-day and how hard he trains and how motivated he is still. It really pushes me on as well.
“I know when I've got him behind me he's going to be barking in my ear the whole game whether I like it or not. I've got to listen to him and he's an unbelievable role model for me. If I can have half the career James Milner's had then I'll be very lucky.”

The atmosphere at the final whistle against Forest, Jack admits, was very different from that at the previous home game, the 1-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
“Obviously we knew it was going to be like that,” he said. “We were more disappointed than anyone that day. We know how much it means, I especially know how much it means to the club and the fans and the people.
“All we can do now is try to go into every game leaving it all out on the pitch and winning as many games of football as possible from now until the end of the season.”
