Fabian Hurzeler praised the energy and intensity his side showed in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool at the Amex.
Two Danny Welbeck goals – which took him to 12 in the Premier League for the season – secured a fourth win in five league games for Albion.
“I liked the intensity we brought on the pitch. I think that was the key today,” said the head coach.
“We pressed intensely, we played intensely, we had a good energy and we created a lot of chances, especially in the second half. I was pleased with how everyone played, how everyone tried to outwork and outrun their opponent.”
Albion’s win lifted them up to eighth and Hurzeler was asked what was behind the upturn in form.
“We played good football before, but we manage the key moments in these games better.
“We try to stay more calm. We try to stick to our principles. We try to not overreact in certain moments. After Liverpool scored we stayed calm, we stuck together and then I saw a great team on the pitch. I saw a team working for each other and I think that's very important to win Premier League games.

A brace from Danny Welbeck was enough to see Albion take all three points against Liverpool in the early kick-off at the Amex Stadium on Saturday lunchtime.
“If you are successful as a team, if you create a good connection in the team, then the individuals shine and you get rewards as the individual. But first of all you have to perform well as a team. And that's what they're doing at the moment.”
Welbeck’s double means he has scored more Premier League goals this season than any other Englishman.
“He is not only scoring goals but he's in a brilliant shape, finding good connections between his teammates, creating a good togetherness,” added Hurzeler. “I think he can help every team in the world including England.”
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot was full of praise for Albion’s performance.
“Brighton away is always a difficult game. It must be nice to have a season ticket here because they are a team that always wants to play,” said Slot.
“The first half was even but if you look at the second half Brighton deserved to win. As the game went on they got stronger and stronger. They created more chances than us – they were closer to scoring a third than we were to a second.”
