Diego Coppola has loved his start to life with Albion.
The Italian has reflected on a big week in his career, having made his full debut in the League Cup and a substitute in the win over Manchester City in the Premier League, just before the international break.
Settling in at a new club
I’m super happy with my situation here and I’m settling in very good now. I found a house and I have a car, so everything is fine. Also on the pitch and on the training ground I really like the work we are putting in. I like the team. We are a young squad, so everyone is more or less my age and I’m forming a good relationship with everybody. Compared to (last club) Hellas Verona, the structure and the training ground is way bigger. We have more facilities. We have a bigger gym, we have the sauna, the spa
everything. It has been a big step for me and I’m really enjoying it.

Improving as a player
The coach always demands we give one hundred per cent in training. That we have the right mentality and that we put the team before ourselves because I think that’s the most important thing. I think he’s quite happy how I’m doing now. I hope I will get my game time soon in the Premier League but I’m not in a rush – the league just started so I will get my chances and when I do, I will have to do good. I’m improving day by day and I think I can get better.
The Premier League experience
The Premier League is fantastic. The atmosphere at the Amex for the first game was very, very nice. In Italy they say that going to Premier League games is like going to the theatre because nobody takes the chance to sing, but honestly it was very nice! You can feel the support of the fans, even when you run down the line to warm up.

His qualities
As a player myself, I think I’m really physical. I like to go in duels, and make the opposition striker know that I am there. I need to work on ball possession, but I feel that is improving with each training session.
Making his debut
It was a nice moment to play against Oxford. I have been waiting for my chance and to me any game is the same as another. You need to give your best for yourself and your teammates. It has given me a taste now for playing in the team. I know I have to be patient and when the chance comes in the Premier League I have to have the courage and strength to take it.
