Two Albion players swapped England duty to help their loan clubs claim important wins as domestic action returned after the three-week international break.
James Beadle and Amario Cozier-Duberry helped England U21s secure qualification for next summer’s Euros with Cozier-Duberry making his international debut when he played an hour of the 3-1 defeat to the Republic of Ireland in Cork last Tuesday.
England had secured qualification when Beadle kept a clean sheet in the 0-0 draw against Slovakia.Â
Back on Championship duty, Beadle had another shutout in Birmingham City’s 1-0 win over West Brom at the Hawthorns, their third away win of the season.Â
Meanwhile Cozier-Duberry was in good form again for Middlesbrough, playing 87 minutes of their 1-0 win over relegated Wolves, a victory that left Boro two points behind early pacesetters Swansea.
Freddie Simmonds also represented England, playing for the U19s as a second-half substitute in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Belgium.
