Fabian Hurzeler felt Albion fully merited their third win in the last four Premier League games.
Goals from Maxim De Cuyper and substitute Stefanos Tzimas sealed a 2-0 win at the City Ground on Sunday which left Albion fifth in the table after collecting ten points from their last four games.
âIt was a deserved win and we played well," said Hurzeler. "In the first half we dominated a good opponent and created chances. Of course scoring goals is the most important thing but what I liked is that we didnât force it, we stayed patient and all the time we kept a good defensive structure and were very stable.
Delight for Stefanos Tzimas and Jack Hinshelwood after Tzimas made it 2-0. đˇJames Boardman
âIn the second half we suffered a bit. Nottingham brought on some extra quality but we stuck together and defended the box well. In the end it was a fully deserved win. After the memory of what happened here last season we cleaned the air, so I am delighted for my players and the supporters.
âWe had good connections on the pitch and the better the understanding you have the better you play. It was pleasing to see how we attacked and then reacted when we lost the ball."
Hurzeler was delighted for Tzimas, whose goal means Albion have now scored 11 goals by substitutes this season, more than any club in Europeâs top five leagues.
Hurzeler added: âWe are all pleased for Stef. Heâs had to work hard to get used to the intensity of the Premier League. Itâs a daily process and some things take time. He can still improve but for sure it was a nice moment for him and the supporters."
