Albion's under-16s defeated a much younger Liverpool side 1-0 in the Junior Premier League PGA Cup final.
Player of the match Issy Ranger said, "It feels unreal, the girls have worked so hard all season and I felt we really deserved the win."
Despite her individual recognition, Issy reiterated that it was a team effort. Asked for one word to sum up the performance, Issy said "togetherness", a work ethic that has become a defining characteristic at every level.
Women’s and Girls’ academy manager Perry Northeast added, "It's been fantastic to see the group work hard, displaying high levels of effort, attitude and application across the season and the game was a fitting way to finish."
"We feel it's important for moments like this to take place within young players' journeys, creating opportunities to flourish in high-level settings. A big well done and congratulations to all of the players and staff involved on the day."
Nicola Cousins, lead phase coach, added, “We are extremely proud of this group of players, who have been through a lot this year, having experienced high moments and also setbacks, in turn providing good learning opportunities throughout the season. To get over the line in this competition and win the final was well deserved.
"The learning and growth shown to compete within the group stages and knockout phase has been pleasing and has developed the group on and off pitch, providing a platform for them to prepare for senior team competitions in the future."
"This group has shown high levels of togetherness, resilience and Brighton values. It’s been pleasing to see every squad member play their part during the season and then have such a special final fixture and memory together.”
