Brighton & Hove Albion’s week of action with UNICEF continues today by celebrating a powerful principle at the heart of our new Child Rights Action Plan, every child has the right to be heard.
As part of One Goal, a first-of-its-kind plan created with UNICEF to put children’s rights at the centre of our club, we are highlighting a different right each day in the lead-up to the full launch on 22 November. The plan has been shaped through workshops with UNICEF and input from young fans and Academy players
Today we are focussing on Respect for Children’s Views: every child has the right to express their thoughts, feelings and wishes and to have those views taken seriously.
To bring this to life, we are releasing a new video filmed at the Girls’ Academy. In a vox-pop style piece, academy players Zohal and Asher take the lead, interviewing teammates about why it is important that young people have a say in football and at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Their perspectives are shaping real change at Albion. As part of the One Goal plan, the club has committed to creating a formal route for young players, fans and Foundation participants to share their ideas directly with board-level decision makers.
