Brighton & Hove Albion’s week of action with UNICEF UK reaches its final daily spotlight today, celebrating one of the most joyful principles of our new Child Rights Action Plan, every child has the right to rest, play and take part in cultural and artistic activities.
Throughout this week we have been unveiling One Goal, Brighton & Hove Albion’s first Child Rights Action Plan, created in partnership with UNICEF. The plan has been shaped through club-wide workshops, along with insight from young fans, academy players and Foundation participants, all helping us place children’s rights and wellbeing at the centre of club decision-making
Today’s featured right, Rest, Play, Culture & Arts, highlights the importance of fun, creativity and belonging in a child’s development.
To showcase this, we are releasing a new video montage celebrating the joy of young fans at Albion. The footage includes matchday moments, signing sessions, interactions with Gully, fan activities and creative initiatives delivered through the Foundation, illustrating how football provides space for children to relax, explore and express themselves.
As part of the One Goal commitments, Brighton & Hove Albion will continue to create inclusive environments and experiences that give young fans, players and Foundation participants opportunities to enjoy football and express themselves freely.
Tomorrow, at our Premier League fixture against Brentford, we will officially unveil One Goal, alongside UNICEF. The action plan will outline our long-term commitments, including building a Wellbeing Hub at the training ground, establishing a formal route for children’s voices into club leadership, and training staff across the club and Foundation in child rights.
