Itâs been a good week for goalkeeper James Beadle, who kept three clean sheets to help propel Birmingham City into the Championshipâs top four.
Beadle, who is in his second season on loan at St Andrewâs, enjoyed shutouts in the 1-0 win over West Brom, last Tuesdayâs 4-0 success against Preston and the 3-0 victory on Saturday at home to QPR , when he made his 50th appearance for the club.
Those wins have lifted Chris Daviesâs side to within two points of the automatic promotion places.
Two points and a place better off than Birmingham are Middlesbrough, for whom Amario Cozier-Duberry also had a productive week, with an assist in Boroâs 3-2 win at Stoke City and again on Saturday when they rescued a point from 2-0 down at home to Cardiff City.
Another player with an assist to his credit was Brajan Gruda, although it didnât come as much consolation for RB Leipzig, who were 6-0 down when they got a consolation goal in stoppage time in Saturdayâs Bundesliga game against Bayern Munich. Leipzig did beat PSV in the Champions League last week, though, with Gruda getting the only goal.
In League One Kamari Doyle was on target for Leicester City, who claimed a welcome 2-1 win over Doncaster Rovers while Mark OâMahony returned after injury for Burton Albion as a second-half substitute in their 2-2 draw against Peterborough United.Â
Charlie Tasker played for 64 minutes of Rochdaleâs 3-2 defeat at Crewe in League Two while in Spainâs Ligue 2 Matias Orozco helped CD Castellon to a 3-0 win over Las Palmas.
Unused subs in the last week have been: Freddie Simmonds (AFC Wimbledon), Facundo Buonanotte (Elche), Harry Howell (Leicester City) and Josh Robertson (Fleetwood Town).
