Another landmark for the club on the day we celebrated our 125th anniversary.

On a landmark day for Albion, the club not only marked the occasion with an impressive 3-0 win against the reigning Premier League champions Arsenal but fans also turned up in record numbers at the American Express Stadium for the club's official 125th anniversary fixture.

As the team stepped onto the pitch wearing the same kit the original team wore, to mark 125 years since Albion's first competitive match in September 1901, 31,944 supporters helped create an incredible atmosphere and the highest home attendance in the stadium's history, surpassing the previous record set at the Amex in October 2024.

The increased capacity comes off of the back of the redevelopment of the North Stand and creation of the new 1901 Pub, which enabled the club to add additional seats while also enhancing the matchday experience for supporters.

The new facility forms part of the North Stand expansion and was designed to provide a football-focused social space that remains connected to the atmosphere and identity of the club.

Welcoming the biggest crowd in the stadium's history on such a significant day felt particularly fitting. It was a celebration of the club's past, a reflection of how far it has come, and a reminder that the next chapter is already being written.

Head coach Fabian Hurzeler said, “I want to say congratulations to this special club for the history for everyone who was contributing in the past and for everyone who's contributing in the present.

"I think the past history from this club is very impressive, and hopefully everyone can enjoy it tonight who was part of our journey so far.”
