The club were on campus to strengthen our presence in the local community and bring our new partnership to life.

Staff from the club have been on campus at the University of Sussex for Freshers Week, bringing our new higher education partnership to life.

The activation aimed to strengthen the club's presence in the local community by engaging with students directly and demonstrating how easy it is to attend matchdays at the Amex.

Throughout the week, staff helped students with setting up Albion+ memberships, while social media competitions drove new followers to the club's official channels.

The retail team were also on hand and ran a pop-up shop featuring the latest club merchandise. The team handed out complimentary sample kit items, which hundreds of students were spotted wearing across campus all week.

Matt Kitson, Director of Estates, Facilities and Commercial Services at the University of Sussex said, "To have the football club at our Freshers Week event all week has been amazing.

"It's been a busy few days, but we've had an enormous amount of positive feedback about having the club on campus, and the passion of the team when interacting with our new students and staff has been terrific.

"To have your own stall outside some of our new student spaces has been a brilliant way to raise the profile of some amazing opportunities for all our community.

"It really kicked the partnership off on such a positive note, so a massive thanks from all of us. It's greatly appreciated."

Announced in August, the multi-year partnership with the university brings together two of the region's most prominent community institutions.

The partnership will also unlock new career and educational pathways for Sussex students and staff while driving local civic initiatives across Brighton and the wider region.
