Hope Powell’s side take to the field for the first time since the 20th December when they visited high-flying Manchester City at the Academy Stadium. After conceding early to an indirect free kick from Steph Houghton, Albion went on to lose out 5-0.
Powell looked back on the defeat and believed that the scoreline was harsh on her side, emphasising that she was pleased with some of the play the team managed to put together.
Liverpool head into today’s game on the back of a positive result against Chelsea. The Reds scored early on through Niamh Charles, but her effort was cancelled out by Lionesses forward Bethany England.
The point moved Liverpool off the bottom of the table above Bristol City, only three points behind Albion, leaving the league table finely poised ahead of today’s match.
