Ben White will know what to expect when Albion come up against the Premier Leagueâs leading strike force on Sunday.Â
Albion head to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on a Spursâ side who have already scored 16 goals, more than any team in the league, including six against Manchester United and five against Southampton. Â
Son Heung-Min (8) and Harry Kane (5) have formed a formidable partnership with 13 goals between them and White knows all about Kaneâs abilities, having helped Newport County draw 1-1 against Spurs in an FA Cup tie in 2018 when he was on loan with the Welsh club. Â
White said, âIn the first game I marked Harry Kane and then in the replay Lorente. It was a good game at Rodney Parade. The pitch wasnât great which played into our hands and then we got a replay at Wembley, which we lost 2-0. Â
"It was tough, we defended pretty much the whole game. Hopefully it wonât be like that on Sunday.Â
âThey have got some incredible attacking talent so we might have to dig deep for 10-15 minutes at a time and grind out a result.Â
âBut we took points off them last season and this season in every game we feel we could have taken something, even against other top sides.
âWe know itâs going to be difficult, as every game in the Premier League will be this season. Weâll do our best and try and get some points out of it.âÂ
The defender was also asked about the main difference between the top-flight and Championship, where he spent last season on loan with Leeds United.
âI think the biggest thing is how much harder it is to score in the Premier League because teams make fewer mistakes.Â
âIs the League more open this season? Iâd say that every team has a chance of winning a game. I donât think any team goes into a game expecting to win. Itâs much tighter and the competition is strong throughout the league.â
