Adam Webster is confident Albion will return to winning ways sooner rather than later under Roberto De Zerbi, despite the narrow defeat to Spurs.
Harry Kane’s neat first-half flick secured victory at the Amex on Saturday, but De Zerbi’s side had a number of their own chances and Webster believes results will come under the Italian.
“Roberto’s got his own ideas, which he’s getting across well – but it’s going to take a bit of time,” said Webster.
“As a group, we’ve only had one full week to work with him, but you can see it’s coming together. There were some very nice patterns of play against Spurs and we created some good openings, but just lacked that killer pass.”

De Zerbi has been full of praise for Webster and his defensive colleagues since being named head coach, and he believes the faith shown in the backline will prove fruitful.
“He wants us to dominate games from the back,” said Webster. “It’s all about how we can react off the pressure that comes to us, make space and then get our midfield and forwards on the ball.
“It’s enjoyable playing his way. We have to take risks but as long as we are in the right positions and do the right things on the ball we will do well under him.”

Albion dominated possession from the back but a second phase set-piece undid our good work as Son Heung-min and Kane combined for the only goal.
Webster added, “They hardly had a chance and even their goal wasn’t a clear opening, but that’s what they can do to you. They’re a top side with great players.
“Kane has proven over the last ten years how good a striker he is and when we slightly switched off he punished us. He scored a goal out of almost nothing, but that’s what he can do to you.”
