New signing Jan Paul van Hecke has joined Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen on a season-long loan.
The 20-year-old defender signed for Albion on a three-year deal from NAC Breda, but heads straight out to play in the Dutch top-flight for the upcoming campaign.
Van Hecke remained in the Netherlands, and therefore will be able to link up with Heerenveen straight away.
Technical director Dan Ashworth, speaking on his arrival, said, “He’s a young talent, a powerful defender who is comfortable on the ball and good in possession.
“The club’s loans department, led by David Weir, will monitor his progress closely over the course of the season.
He added, “We wish him well for the season ahead, and this represents a great opportunity to continue his development with Heerenveen.”
