Efrem’s son, Lance Corporal James Brynin, a keen Albion fan, was tragically killed in action in Afghanistan in October 2013, and part of his legacy is the charity.
StrongMen offers a number of unique support services, including ‘The Weekender’, which takes groups of men to beautiful, remote locations, combining a mixture of physical and mental activities, designed to put everyone at ease and provide the perfect environment to talk openly and honestly about their emotions.

“When we take the guys away, we have all sorts of kit to take, such as tents, kayaks, mountain bikes and supplies, so these vehicles are going to be vital in helping us with our events,” said Efrem. “With the country opening up again following lockdown, we will also have a presence at various shows around the country, so the cars will also help us move our equipment from event to event.
“We are looking at either one sponsor per car, or various sponsors per car – we have that flexibility. In return, the sponsor will receive branding on the car and will also have a presence on our social channels and website. We have plenty of events coming up, so there will be mutual benefits for both parties.”
StrongMen’s next scheduled weekend away will be this coming August, while four more are planned for next year. The charity also has a black tie event planned for the autumn while this summer will also see the launch of the Bare Yourself campaign, which is backed by Albion legend Bobby Zamora. The charity also provides telephone-based peer support through its ‘Man2Man’ service.
“It’s full hands to the pump now and with our Albion connection, we are particularly looking forward to teaming up with Bobby for our Bear Yourself campaign,” added Efrem.
“We’ve been delighted with the support we’ve received from the football club since our launch and we were humbled to receive a donation through the Albion As One fund earlier this year.
“The club has also made a donation towards funding our Land Rovers, but if you would like, or know of someone, who would like to sponsor or co-sponsor one of our cars, please get in touch at the earliest opportunity. You support will be gratefully received.”
