Hope Powell says the players not available to her because of injury still have a big impact on the Albion squad.
Megan Connolly, who broke her rib playing for Republic of Ireland earlier this month and Rebekah Stott, who is recovering from ankle surgery, are still in and around the squad while they work on their own rehabilitation as well as on matchdays.
They will be part of the squad for Sundayâs Amex game against Reading, even though they canât be involved on the pitch.
âI call those experienced players off the pitch influencers. They play a massive part in helping the mood of the players who start and those who come on,â said Powell.
âThey also give confidence and information to the others, especially the younger players. They are brilliant in games and around training and itâs really good to see.â
Powell also gave an update on midfielder Maisie Symonds, whose stoppage-time free kick earned Albion a memorable 1-0 win over Leicester City last November when we last played at the Amex.
Symonds is recovering from glandular fever and faces a lengthy period of recuperation.
âOn our pre-season tour she couldnât train and was very poorly. The medical staff looked after her brilliantly but when she came back she went to hospital and was diagnosed with glandular fever.
âWeâre in regular contact with her and she is going to pay a visit to training soon. Her passion is football and sheâs disappointed she canât play. Sheâs had some positive test results so sheâs upbeat, but you can understand how difficult itâs been for her.â
