Head coach Hope Powell admitted she was disappointed Albion couldn’t start the new year with a win after they were held to a goalless draw at Birmingham City.
Albion had some good opportunities in Sunday’s game at Solihull Moors but found home keeper Hannah Hampton in top form.
Powell said, “It’s a bit frustrating, in terms of the chances we created I’m disappointed that we have only come away with one point. But the most important thing when you go away from home is not to lose the game so that is a positive for us.”

Albion had to make five changes from the side which faced Reading in their last game a month ago with Beth Roe returning from a loan spell at Charlton and Megan Connolly, normally a central midfielder, playing at right back.
“It’s been a difficult week for us as I am sure it has been for Birmingham in terms of preparation so it’s pleasing that we came away with something,” added Powell.
“We had Megan at right back and Beth on the left for her first WSL 90 minutes of the season so we had to shift players around, but everyone was happy to play and I thought our fitness levels considering it was our first game for a month was very good.
“I was pleased with the spirit and application but unfortunately we just couldn’t get the goal we probably deserved.”
Albion return to action next Sunday when they host Manchester City.
