Spurs have accumulated 17 points from 14 FAWSL games so far, and Powell is delighted to see another female coach having success at the top level.
She said, “They’re doing well for a newly-promoted club and seem to be enjoying the experience of the WSL.
“They recently had a good result against Everton a couple of weeks ago, drawing 2-2 after being 2-0 down.
“Karen also appears to enjoy being part of the WSL, in what is a great experience for her. She is a joint manager, which helps her, because she feels that she is relatively inexperienced at this level.
“But they find themselves in a really good position and she’s enjoying it. I’m pleased for her and it’s nice to see another female coach doing well. I just hope she doesn’t do well on Sunday.”

The Albion manager is wary of the attacking threats which Spurs will pose, and spoke in more detail about the character they showed to claim a point last time out against Everton.
“They rotate well upfront and we’ve been debating who would play and who wouldn’t. We know Gemma Davison is one of their key players, and she is a big threat. They will grind results out, as shown when they were 2-0 down against Everton and claimed a 2-2 draw.
“That was also with ten players. They are quite competitive and resilient, so we need to be prepared for what will be another competitive fixture.”

Attention turned back to Albion, and Powell is pleased that her side’s performances have improved in recent weeks, highlighting the recent impressive displays against Everton and Manchester United.
“It’s about putting in a good performances and finding that consistency, which has been a bit up and down this season. But in the last two games against Everton and Man United at home, we’ve played quite well.
“We need to have that consistency going forward. If you perform well, you’ve generally got a better chance of winning. You’re not always going to win with a good performance, but we’re striving for a bit more consistency in our play.
“It’s about reminding players that we played well in those games, and we need to continue that consistency on Sunday.”
