Graham Potter has said that consistency with tactics is the key to long-term success.
The Albion boss has never veered from his belief in a positive, attacking style of play and will continue with that approach.
Ahead of Sunday's home game against Sheffield United he said, âThere's no style that guarantees you a win, that says if you play like this you'll get wins because football doesn't work like that. You've got to try and work out what's best for your players and your ideas and then try and make them work. You need to be consistent.
âYou can play the game in so many ways, there's no rights or wrong way. No one way is better than the other, everyone's just got to try and make their way work.
âIn the Premier League it's very difficult because the opposition have got some incredibly talented players, so for us it's about trying to do as well as we can and keep those performance levels high. Then you trust that you can get the results you need.â
The visit of bottom of the table United presents Albion with the chance to win their first league game at the Amex this campaign.
But the Blades' return of just a single point so far is harsh on Chris Wilder's side, according to Potter.
âIt is possible [to only have a point at this stage] because it's a brutal league. If the margins don't go your way you can find yourself on the wrong end of results.
âIf you look at their results they're not being beaten by three or four goals every week, it's narrow defeats. They lost with the last kick of the game against Leicester and I don't know how they lost against West Brom with the chances they created.
âA lot of the things I see with Sheffield United are positive. I know Chris and I know his teams. They are always competitive and never give up. He's done a fantastic job and it's a fantastic football story.Â
âRegardless of where they are in the league or how many points they have got, I have got tremendous respect for him and Sheffield United as a club.â
