Graham Potter believes that despite the financial muscle Albion have to compete with in the Premier League, targeting top positions and trophies should never be out of the question.
“Yes, I think I can [achieve something with Brighton],” the head coach said ahead of today’s game at Wolves. “I’m a little bit of a romantic, but you have to respect and understand that 95% of the leagues are determined by finance.
“So, clearly, if you've got more money then there's a better chance that you can win, but I think there's a 5% that can affect that. And then it's about how do you get into that 5%.
“That's the interesting bit and that's where what we're trying to do here, we're trying to develop something where we have to be clever with what we're doing. We have to align our ideas so that we’re all going down one path, We have to be really strong with our work but I'm really, really excited by that.

The Brighton & Hove Albion boss speaks to the media ahead of his team's trip to Molineux.
“The competitor in me means of course you want to win. If you don't win it's hard to convince people. The most important thing is that you try to improve yourself. It's about the players too - you're trying to help them improve. And if you can make a difference in people's lives that can be really special.”
There’s still plenty of work to be done though, says Potter.
“With this team we've got some room to improve and develop. And at the same time, I'm proud of the work we've done as well because sometimes it's hard to say that because you are in a points and results business.
“I'm still happy with what we've done, but I know there's more to do as well.”
