'Young players are adapting to the Premier League', says head coach.

Albion's average squad age is 26.1 - the average across the Premier League is 27.

Graham Potter believes his side’s improved game management reflects the growing maturity of his squad.

Albion dropped 25 points from winning positions last season, more than any other side, but Sunday’s 3-2 victory over Everton was the fifth out of six wins this season when they have scored the first goal.

“We’ve improved that this season which is pleasing,” said Potter. “Last year people were asking me how do we improve that statistic but I said at the time it’s a process.

“We’ve got young players who are adapting to the Premier League and are establishing their careers at a level when it isn’t easy to score goals and win football matches.

“We have kept working and improving and of course the young guys are wiser and more experienced so they’re more able to deal with happens in the game.

“We saw that at Everton. You can’t control things for 90 minutes there, you can’t be perfect. You’ve got to try and see the moments out when you have to and the guys did it well.

“I think it reflects the overall improvements we have made this season and which we want to continue to do.”
