Albion exited the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night but there were no complaints from Graham Potter about their performance against Leicester City.

The Foxes won a penalty shoot-out 4-2 at the King Power Stadium after the teams shared four goals in 90 minutes with Adam Webster and Enock Mwepu, with his first for the club, on target for Albion.

Potter said, “I’m really pleased with the performance. The first goal wasn’t great from our perspective and the first 20 minutes were Leicester’s, but we got back into the game, scored a really good equaliser only to then conceded another really poor second.

“But they are a resilient group and were disappointed with both goals. All you can do is respond and they came back into the game well in the second half, full credit to them.

“We pushed and pushed, got the equaliser and might have scored another goal. Overall it was a really good performance.

“We haven’t got a positive result in either of the last two games but I have been really pleased with how we have played. We’ll recover now and get ready for Liverpool on Saturday.”

Dan Burn had to come off at the break after landing heavily on his knee. Potter confirmed he will have a scan to determine the extent of the problem. “We are a little concerned. He landed from quite a height,” he added.
