Albion goal hero Pascal Gross just canât stop scoring against Manchester United!
The Germanâs two goals at Old Trafford takes his tally against the Red Devils to six in the Premier League â and his latest brace was also capped with the man of the match award.
âI donât know what it is. I would like to score more goals against other teams but itâs always against Manchester United!â he smiled. âYou canât ask for much more than that. Three points away from home against United, in their first home game, so it was a big win for us.
Delight for Pascal and the skipper in the Old Trafford sunshine.
âWe played well, the game plan was really good, and we stuck to it. We had our chances and we were clinical for the goals.â
Grossâs first-half double gave the visitors a nice cushion, but United responded after the break and were handed a lifeline on 68 minutes thanks to an Alexis Mac Allister own goal. Yet the Seagulls dug deep to see the game out for a memorable victory.
âItâs always tough at Old Trafford if you get to 2-1 and the last 25 minutes were tough,â Gross admitted. âYou have to dig in, you have to defend as a team. There will be difficult moments but I think we performed so well as a unit today.â
It was a second successive win against United, following a 4-0 demolition at the Amex in May, but Gross was hard pressed to single out the better of the two performances.
âThey are both nice,â he added. âIt always good to win a football game against Manchester United though. Itâs a great way to start the season and Iâm really happy. Itâs only the first three points though and we move forward.â
