Brighton & Hove Albion have been saddened to hear of the passing of former club secretary Peter Robinson.
Peter arrived at the Goldstone Ground in November 1964, replacing Fulham-bound Graham Hortop, and he remained with the club for eight months.
He had previously served Scunthorpe and Crewe but it was at next club Liverpool were he rose to prominence. Indeed, Peter played an integral role in the Anfield club’s development as a European powerhouse with 29 trophies won during his tenure, including four European Cups and 12 league titles.
He also worked with a number of iconic managers, including Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley and Kenny Dalglish, and became the club’s chief executive in 1992, a position he retained until his retirement in 2000.
We extend our condolences to Peter’s family and friends at this sad time.
