Graham Potter has told Enock Mwepu ânot to be scared to show your qualities.â
The 23-year-old has had a stop-start beginning to life with Albion due to a couple of small injuries, but ahead of tonightâs home game against Wolves he is confident heâs starting to find his feet under the guidance of his head coach.
âThe gaffer has been really a great mentor to me,â Mwepu said. âHe always speaks to me about what I need to improve and of course he knows my qualities, itâs just that I have had some injuries here and there.Â
The midfielder scored his first Premier League goal in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool.
âI'm looking forward to being fit and playing regularly and I think with more time Iâm going to improve a lot.
âThe head coach knows that I can do better and he just wants me to give my best, to not be scared to show my qualities every time. That's the thing that he really wants from me and I'm ready for that.â
Prior to joining the club, Mwepu spoke to former Albion defender Bernardo about joining Graham Potterâs team, after the pair shared a dressing room at Red Bull Salzburg last season.
Bernardo made 50 appearances for Albion.
âBernardo mentioned the weather because itâs different to Salzburg. In Salzburg itâs really cold and we normally experience snow â which is also not good for me! But I enjoyed it.Â
âHe said here it rains a lot and is windy, so I just had to adapt to that and hopefully it will be good for me.Â
âFor me, I saw it as a challenge because you have to play football in all conditions, and I wanted to show that I can cope with that, especially as I was coming to the Premier League.â
