Younes Ibrahim netted a hat-trick as our men’s under-18s thumped Birmingham City 4-0 in the Premier League Under-18s Cup.
Having scored a pair of free-kicks in our draw with Arsenal last week, Ibrahim opened the scoring against the Blues after 15 minutes from the penalty spot, smashing the ball down the right from 12-yards.
He had a second ten minutes later when his corner beat everyone and nestled in the top left corner, before completing his hat-trick just before half-time when Blues failed to clear a cross into the box and Ibrahim took full advantage to fire home from close range.
Billy-Ray Cullinane completed the rout in the 47th minute when he took the ball round Birmingham keeper Alfie Smith and passed it in to make it 4-0 on the day.
Men’s under-18s head coach Bjorn Hamberg said, “It was a really strong performance from us today. We played good football, but even more importantly we also competed and won our duels without the ball.
"We have had great back to back wins this week and lots to build on from a team perspective, with more players getting minutes after coming back from injuries. We look stronger and stronger."
