Mooy: We have to regroup

Albion were beaten 3-1 by AFC Bournemouth thanks to goals from Harry Wilson, Callum Wilson and a Pascal Gross own-goal, and the Australian says it is vital the team uses this break in action to learn where they can improve.

He said, “It was disappointing because we controlled the game, switched off a bit and were punished.

“We haven’t won as many games as we would’ve liked, so it’s natural when you concede a goal that it might rock us a bit more, but we have to be strong and learn fast.

“It’s frustrating, but we have to regroup, look at what we can do better and get ready to play West Ham.”

Mooy scored his second Albion goal after breaking his duck for the club in this season’s reverse fixture, but he admits that is scant consolation following a disappointing night, before stressing the need to maintain the belief within the squad.

“The goal is not really important, as winning is the most important thing. The result is always more important than individual accolades.

“We need to believe in ourselves, otherwise it’s impossible. We need to have belief in our ability as a team and as individuals.

“We can win games and play our football. If we don’t think that way, then we’ve got no chance.”
