Albion full of confidence after another late show at Chelsea.

Danny Welbeck's late goal at Stamford Bridge ensured Albion left with a point on Wednesday night.

Neal Maupay believes Albion will take momentum into 2022 after ending the year with another late show.

The Frenchman scored stoppage-time goals to earn points against West Ham and Southampton earlier this month and this time it was Danny Welbeck who struck late on in the 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Wednesday that lifted Albion into the top half of the table going into Sunday’s game at Everton.

Maupay said: “The four points from the last two games will give us a lot of confidence.

“We’ve been playing well and we showed that against a top side on Wednesday. It will give us a lot of momentum going to Everton on Sunday.

“We thoroughly deserved a draw against Chelsea. Everyone was expecting us to lose but we played really well, sticking to our game plan and creating chances. We never give up and that’s why we score so many late goals.”

Welbeck has come off the bench to equalise with his second goal of the campaign.

“I’m so happy for Danny,” said Maupay. “He’s been unlucky with injuries this season but he’s a top player and a great professional. It was a great night him and for us.”
