Neal Maupay has six goals to his name so far this campaign.

Neal Maupay says his teammates always believed he would get back to his goalscoring ways.

Without a goal in over 10 hours, Maupay brought an end to his barren run in front of goal in the 2-2 draw against West Ham, before adding his sixth goal of the campaign in the 3-3 draw with Wolves.

“I am definitely not happy with the amount of goals I have got so far, I have been struggling. But it's part of my job as a striker, sometimes you score, sometimes you don't even if you do exactly the same thing.

The Frenchman fired in from the penalty spot in the 3-3 draw with Wolves.

“I believe in my teammates and they believe in me. When I was struggling to score they were all behind me.”

The 24-year-old now wants to turn his attention to what he believes is one of Albion's shortcomings.

“If we score first in a game like we did against Wolves, we struggle to continue playing that way. After that first goal, we felt it was going to be a good game for us.

“When you need points and you concede a goal, you start overthinking the situation and then you've lost the game. But we reacted really well.

“We were really happy with the result on Saturday. Being 3-1 down at half-time was really, really tough. We need to play how we did in the second half from the start of the game.

“At half-time I said to the boys that we needed to lift our game, to fight more, to be more aggressive. It's fine to lose a game of football as long as you give everything and I don't think we did that in the first half.

“I said, 'listen boys, all of us need to give more, run more and fight more. If we do that, we have a chance to get back in the game.' We all showed great character and we 100% deserved that point.”
